How It Works

Getting started is simple. The consultation is free, brief and focused on helping you understand your options without pressure.

1

Book a Free Consultation

Pick a time that works for you. If you have your ZIP code, budget, doctors, medications or coverage dates handy, great. If you don't, that's completely fine. We'll start with what you have.

2

Compare Your Options

We walk through the plans available where you live, including monthly premiums, deductibles, provider networks and prescription coverage. Ask as many questions as you need.

3

Choose When You're Ready

There's no pressure to enroll during the consultation. If you find a plan that feels right, we can help you apply and answer questions throughout the process.

What to Look at When Comparing Health Insurance Plans

The monthly premium is only part of the picture. These are some of the most important things to compare.

Costs When You Use Care

Look beyond the monthly premium. Compare deductibles, copays, coinsurance and your potential out-of-pocket costs.

Doctors and Hospitals

Provider networks can vary significantly. We can help check whether the doctors and hospitals important to you participate in the plan.

Prescription Coverage

If you take medications, check how the plan covers them and what pharmacies or formularies apply.

Benefits and Plan Limits

Understand what is covered, what isn't, waiting periods, exclusions, benefit limits and other important plan rules before enrolling.

Coverage Options We Help With

Different people need different types of protection. We can help you understand and compare several kinds of coverage.

Individual and Family Health Insurance

Major medical plans on and off the ACA Marketplace, including plans that may qualify for premium tax credits based on income.

Small Business Hybrid Plans

Group coverage with individual underwriting, which can give both employers and employees more flexibility than some traditional group plans.

Short-Term Health Insurance

Temporary coverage for gaps between plans. Short-term plans do not include all of the protections of ACA-compliant major medical coverage, so it's important to understand what is and isn't covered.

Health Share Plans

Cost-sharing memberships that some people consider as an alternative. Health share plans are not insurance, and we'll help explain how they differ.

Supplemental Coverage

Dental, vision, critical illness, accident coverage, accident-only short-term disability and telemedicine can help round out your protection.

Life Insurance

Term and permanent life insurance options designed to help protect your family, income or business.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get health insurance outside open enrollment?

Sometimes. Marketplace plans generally require open enrollment or a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage, moving, getting married or having a baby. Other types of coverage may be available at different times of the year. We can review what's available to you now.

How much does health insurance cost when I'm self-employed?

It depends on your location, age, household and the plan you choose. Some self-employed people may qualify for premium tax credits on Marketplace plans. We'll help you compare monthly premiums as well as what you could pay when you use your coverage.

Are there contracts with health insurance?

No. Most health insurance plans are month to month with no long-term contract. You can generally cancel your coverage if your needs change, although plan rules and cancellation dates can vary.

Can I deduct health insurance premiums if I'm self-employed?

Many self-employed people may be able to deduct eligible health insurance premiums for themselves and their families. Tax rules depend on your individual circumstances, so check with a qualified tax professional.

Should I keep COBRA or switch to an individual plan?

COBRA lets you continue your existing employer coverage, but the cost may increase because you can become responsible for the full premium. Losing employer coverage may also create a special enrollment opportunity for individual health insurance. We can help you compare the options.

Can I check whether a plan works with my doctors and prescriptions?

Yes. Each plan can have its own provider network and prescription drug list. If you have the names of your doctors and medications, bring them to your consultation and we can review them while comparing plans.

Is there a cost for a consultation?

No. The consultation is free, brief and there is no pressure to enroll. The goal is simply to understand your situation, answer your questions and help you see what coverage options may be available.

What should I have ready for a consultation?

If you have them handy, it helps to know your ZIP code, who needs coverage, your budget, any doctors or medications that matter to you, and when you would like coverage to start. But don't worry if you don't have everything ready. We'll start with what you know and go from there.

Let's Find Coverage That Fits Your Life

Schedule a free, brief, no-pressure consultation to talk through your options. You don't need to have everything figured out before we talk. We'll start with what you have and help you understand the next step.

Plan availability, eligibility, benefits and costs vary by plan and location. Health share plans are not insurance. Short-term plans are not required to cover all ACA essential health benefits.
